CHICK
CEO and Founder, Encompass HK

As a strong advocate for community outreach, Benita actively works and promotes social causes both professionally and personally with various organizations. Her ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders on significant projects and events has established a proven track record in working with youth, government, non-profits, and businesses.
Benita holds a B.A. from Cornell University, an M.A. from Boston University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Educational Studies from The University of Hong Kong. Her academic and professional background in research, psychology, education, and experiential learning provides her with a unique perspective in corporate and organizational training. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion, having coached individuals with different abilities at Outward Bound Hong Kong, curated the first LGBTQ+ city tour, and mentored for the RESOLVE Foundation.
Drawing on her extensive experience in community outreach and environmental education across universities, NGOs, and think tanks, she founded Encompass HK in 2018 to further advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Benita has been instrumental in creating unique experiential learning opportunities for Encompass HK’s clients to understand the SDGs, such as using beer and chocolate tastings to discuss gender stereotypes and facilitating gamified 2030 SDGs experiences.
She currently serves as a part-time lecturer at The University of Hong Kong, focusing on SDGs, and at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she teaches on DEI. Additionally, Benita is a Board Member of KELY Support Group and Youth Arch Foundation, furthering her commitment to youth development. Outside of her professional pursuits, she has been a passionate scuba diving and marine naturalist instructor since she was 18 years old.
